Nepal is one of the most extraordinary travel destinations on earth. Eight of the world’s fourteen highest peaks, living heritage cities, jungle safaris, pilgrimage routes, wellness retreats — all within a country the size of Arkansas. But for a traveller landing on Google, navigating all of that is overwhelming without the right guide.
Tourism Nepal set out to be that guide.
The Problem
The client had been operating since 2018, connecting travellers with local experts across Nepal’s most remarkable destinations. They offered everything from luxury tailor-made itineraries to half-day heritage walks through Kathmandu’s backstreets — but their digital presence wasn’t capturing the breadth and quality of what they offered.
A community marketplace connecting people with destinations needed a platform that could handle the full complexity of tour listings, categories, itineraries, events, and enquiries — all in one place.
What I Built
I built a full tour marketplace platform for Tourism Nepal covering their complete range of packages across eight categories — Adventure, City Tour, Heritage Tour, Pilgrimage Tour, Hill Station, Jungle Safari, Mountain Biking, and Wellness. Each tour has its own dedicated listing with duration, destination, and full itinerary details.
Beyond the packages, the site includes an events section, a gallery, team profiles, and another services section covering business travel support. The platform is built to convert, connecting browsing travellers with the enquiry and booking flow as naturally as possible.
The site has since been handed over to the client’s internal team for ongoing management.
The Result
A proper digital marketplace that finally matches the ambition and variety of what Tourism Nepal offers. Travellers can explore by category, discover specific tours, and connect with local experts — whether they’re planning a Muktinath pilgrimage or a morning vegetable market walk through Kathmandu.
