People’s Hydropower Company

Nepal runs on water. Rivers carved through the Himalayas for millennia, and now those same rivers are being harnessed to power a growing nation. People’s Hydropower Company is one of the organisations at the centre of that effort — developing large-scale hydropower projects like the Super-Dordi and Himchuli Dordi in the mountains of Nepal.

But their digital presence didn’t reflect the scale of what they were building.

The Problem

A company managing multi-million dollar infrastructure projects and hundreds of shareholders had no reliable way to communicate online. There was no central place for shareholders to find AGM notices, financial updates, or project progress. News was shared informally. Important documents were distributed manually. For a publicly listed hydropower company, that gap was a credibility problem.

What I Built

I designed and developed a corporate information website that gave the company a professional home on the web. The site covers everything stakeholders need — company introduction, mission and vision, board of directors, management team, and organisation structure.

Beyond the static pages, the site runs a live news and updates system so the company can publish AGM announcements, regulatory notices, project milestones, and shareholder communications directly through WordPress — no developer needed every time something changes.

A downloads section was built for important documents like annual reports and notices, and a project gallery showcases the construction progress of both hydropower sites, giving investors and the public a window into the work on the ground.

The Result

A company that was previously hard to find online now has a credible, structured presence that serves both its shareholders and the general public. Staff can update news and publish documents independently, reducing the overhead of managing communications and keeping stakeholders informed in real time.

Infrastructure this significant deserves a digital presence that matches it.
